If you’re anything like me, every morning starts with a fancy coffee to-go… And clearly, I’m not the only one! With over 3,500 coffee shops in France, we’re now the third-largest market in Europe, just behind the UK and Germany.
So I asked myself a question… What makes a coffee shop successful in Paris?
A few obvious answers came to mind:
- Picking a name at random from a dictionary: White, Snow, Simple, Black…
- Showing off the classic minimalist storefront + wooden bench — Instagrammable but not comfortable…
- Renaming every drink as if “espresso” were outdated…
But ultimately, the most reliable answer I found was location. Using Geoblink by MyTraffic, I analyzed visitor profiles and foot traffic for three cafés I love: Café d'Auteur, Partisan Café Artisanal, and Café Nuances Vendôme.
The magic formula is in the carousel below.
To resume
In Paris, choosing a coffee shop location isn’t just a decision : it’s a growth lever. Only the right mix of strong foot traffic, profitable visitor dynamics, and of course good coffee creates the kind of chemistry that can propel a brand to success.
